Private urban rent house have the advantage of offering full comfort on top of leaving you full liberty as to when you come and go, which is not the case of any other B&B in Mons. And we provide all that in the city centre, on the cultural kilometer of Mons 2015.
The freedom to come and go as you wish, without any constraint.
The freedom to cook for yourself or to discover local gastronomy.
The freedom to spend time with friends, guests, colleagues or to prefer the quietness of your room.
In a word, the freedom to build yourself a tailor-made stay in Mons.
Comfort is a key feature of the house in Mons.
Bed comfort, bathroom comfort, everything has been thought of.
Enjoy the comfort of a real house where historical elements mix with a modern day decoration to create a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Intimacy of a B&B and privacy of a renthouse.
In other words, enjoy the comfort of feeling home elsewhere.
Our guesthouse is in the middle of Mons, in a charming and quiet street and only a stone’s throw from the Grand-Place, restaurants and renowned shops. As neighbours of the Dream hotel, on the “cultural kilometer”, you are only minutes away from the museums and attractions in the city (which include the Mons Museum of Fine Arts (BAM), the Belfry, Collegiate Church of Saint Waudru, the Mons Memorial Museum, the Museum of the “Doudou”, ...).
In one word, the best of the city on foot and at your pace.
Each room’s decoration has been conceived by a different local designer, with top priority given to your well-being. The rooms are comfort bubbles, each one with its own personality and style that propose quality bedding, duvets & pillows, thought-through lightings and a bathroom with private toilet. Nothing has been left out, not even the television, Wi-Fi, desk or the audio system.
The guesthouse is only a few meters away from the two most enjoyable streets of Mons as far as your shopping is concerned: the Rue de la Coupe, leading from the guesthouse to the Grand-Place, and the Rue des Fripiers, joining the Collegiate Church and the train station over an intersection with the Grand-Rue.
In the Rue de la Coupe, on number 6, you can find our favourite shop, Appart’Chik: an ever so small shop filled with ideas for presents to be enjoyed by yourself and others and in which you might wish to buy just about everything! A Stetson hat or cap for His Lordship, a Kesslord or Neuville bag for the Lady, jewellery, umbrellas, accessories and even a new suitcase for big travellers...
The Rue de la Coupe also holds excellent food addresses:
« l'Envers », on number 20, is also a much appreciated place for the people of Mons. It has an extensive menu and an excellent price-quality ration ratio between quality and price when it comes to menus.
On number 15, you will enjoy eating the great classics from the Moroccan cuisine at « le Touareg ».
Do you prefer eating in and enjoying the intimacy of the guesthouse?
Then we recommend « Chez Théo », on number 31. It will prove to be the ideal address as it is the best Italian caterer of Mons! You can find anything there, from appetiser to dessert, whether it is for a memorable meal... or for a simple lasagne.
For a delicious salad at noon, do not hesitate to visit « Boule de Bleu » on number 46.
Breakfast, Bagels and delicious coffees are to be found on number 10, at « Moma Coffee ».
We also have a few recommendations to make for other restaurants in the neighbouring streets:
One of our favourites is « Le Salon des Lumières » in the Rue Du Miroir 23. You do need to book your table in order to enjoy the 18th century and particularly romantic atmosphere. A must see if you are in Mons!
A gastronomic meal? Try « Les Gribaumonts » on number 95 of the Rue d’Havré or « L'Art des Mets » in Rue des Clercs 9.
Elected best brasserie in Belgium: « La Table du Boucher », Rue d’Havré 49 will enble you to savour the same quality meats as in Paris’ starred restaurants!
You will be able to enjoy a good Lebanese restaurant with democratic prices, also suitable for vegetarians, at « Les Portes d'Orient », Rue de Nimy 19.
Texas style breakfast and coffee at the « Texas Coffee House », Rue d'Havré 34.
« Mel Oh Cake » : the perfect place for homemade cupcakes and ice-tea lovers! Rue de la clef, 24.
Should you prefer to eat on the Grand-Place ?
Best quality can be found at « La Petite Provence » with its savoury cuisine.
Looking for a warm welcome and the best possible view? « Le Royal » is ideal for a lunchtime salad or for a pub-like dish at night while you enjoy the view on the Town Hall.
For the best egg rolls (and other Vietnamese eat-in or take-away dishes), you need to visit « New Saveurs d'Asie », a snackbar without pretention but serving delicious food on number 1 of the Rue du Miroir.
Last but not least, to round off your evening in a festive mood, there are 4 bars you cannot overlook:
L’Alhambar - the new cool place in Mons to enjoy a cocktail or an evening drink!
Ô Bar'Hik - perfect wine bar for a perfect evening !
Le Citizen Fox - a trendy bar in a historic building.
Le Tam-Tam - it has been serving the best cocktails of Mons for the past 30 years.
